The biggest hiccup is it takes days to weeks for the ATF to approve the transfer. To simplify the process Mankato Guns has coupled with Silencer Shop.
So there are three basic ways to buy a silencer
- From Silencer Shop
- From Mankato Guns
- From another seller using Mankato Guns to facilitate the transfer
1-From Silencer Shop
This is a streamlined process and there are no transfer fees in addition to the NFA tax stamp.
Steps involved:
- Buy your silencer at Silencer Shop and pay the transfer tax
- Register at Silencer Shop
- We will walk you through the rest of the paperwork and fingerprints.
2-From Mankato Guns
Steps involved:
- Buy your silencer from Mankato Guns.
- We will walk you through the paperwork, eforms site, the photo and fingerprints in the shop.
3- Buy from another seller using Mankato Guns to facilitate the transfer
Since Mankato Guns is acting as a transfer agent for the seller, we charge a $75 transfer fee.
Steps involved:
- Buy your silencer and have it shipped to Mankato Guns.
- We will walk you through the digital fingerprints and eforms certification.
- Once your final approval is received we will call you to come pick up your silencer at Mankato Guns. You are expected to pay the $75 transfer fee at time of pick up.
